Sukuna, the fearsome King of Curses in “Jujutsu Kaisen,” is an exceptionally mighty character. His strength is the stuff of legends, and it’s hard to overstate how formidable he is. Sukuna wields an incredible amount of cursed energy, making him nearly impervious and incredibly dominant in combat. He’s so powerful that he can effortlessly take on multiple jujutsu sorcerers simultaneously and emerge victorious.
Ryoman Sukuna is a monster that feeds off of the fears and killings of humans he is better known as the king of all cases without sukuna there would be no Jujutsu kaisen he is easily the main attraction in this series which is filtered the brim with insanely overpowered characters.
Why Sukuna is probably the strongest character in the series so right here will be decided to figure out Sukuna’s current strength in Jujutsu Kaisen, in the vast world of Jujutsu Kaisen, we have so many characters whose strength is on a completely different level, such as Yuta, Gojo, kenjaku and Yuki, but somehow the one who manages to instil the most fear amongst the world of Jujutsu is a curse that will sealed for one thousand years a menace who wrecked Havoc during the Golden Age of sorcerers so with that said why don’t we figure out how powerful Ryoman Sukuna really is.
How Strong is Sukuna?
before we break down the insane strength of Sukuna, this part right here is going to be crucial towards finding out how the king of all curses compares to the other characters in jjk
we’ll be breaking down the strength of sukuna into three different tests the first test which will be focused on
1) Physical ability
this consists of his speed power and endurance
the second test will be based on his
2) Battle intellect
meaning we’ll be assessing how fast sukuna’s decision-making is during a battle and how effective his intelligence is in a dire situation
the third and final tests will be based on
3) Sukuna’s Jujutsu abilities
how effective and Powerful his many techniques are in the world of jjk
each of these tests will be scored out of 20. this will then give us a final score out of 60.
1. Sukuna vs Gaint Curse :
the very first time we witnessed sukuna in action would be right off the bat in the first chapter of Jujutsu Kaisen. From what we understand is that Yuji Senpai is Sasaki and iguchi unwrapped one of sukuna’s 20 sealed fingers the amount of fear and power which comes from Simply unsealing such a cursed object is that it will attract more threats and curses. so sukuna even in his dormant state of being a single cursed finger managed to attract some insane curses with Sasuke and iguchi in the hand of a very big and powerful curse to which even a semi-experienced sorcerer like Megami was struggling against Sukuna then makes his very first appearance slashing this giant curse spirit with a single hit keeping in mind this was sukuna’s very first whiff of air
2. Sukuna vs Gojo :
As for the first challenge of Sukuna’s he’d come face to face with the strongest Sorcerer of this current generation Satoru Gojo although this battle was short-lived it did give us an idea where a single finger sukuna stood against a Powerhouse like Gojo from the get-go we witnessed the insane pace and power of a single finger sukuna pouncing at Gojo with no fear whatsoever but obviously Gojo really couldn’t care less and in a blink of an eye Dodges Sukuna’s initial attack and gives him a good old chop to the neck that’s when Sukuna begins to realize that Gojo isn’t at all normal however Sukuna States it doesn’t matter what e-rate is you guys are always a pain insinuating to us that sukuna has most likely come against Sorcerers near the level of Gojo’s during the Golden Age of sorcerers anyways this only excites sukuna even more with the rage and with ease destroys the ground into nothing but Rubble but of course Gojo uses his cheat codes to Simply stop the attack head-on this is when sakuna reverts to Yuji and that’s all we get to see every legendary first encounter between the strongest Sorcerer of his generation and the king of all cases what we understood here about sukuna was how even in the face of such power his fearlessness and bloodlust with the main reasons he wanted to kill Gojo not being around for almost 1 000 years his first instinct was to kill.
which again reveals to us that he definitely went up against insanely powerful opponents During the heian period so far we’ve understood how a single finger sukuna could defeat a giant curse which would be around the level of a grade one or two with just a single slash attack he was capable of pouncing at Gojo with such immense speed and power then he went on to destroy the ground before him into Rubble with again a single strike so regardless even sukuna with a single finger he would still be ranked as a special grade thread
3. Sukuna vs Finger Bearer :
This Battle between sukuna and Special Grade Curse should give us a bit of a better perspective of how fast Sukuna’s power goes when compared to a curse which Bears the rank of a special grade this would come in chapter 7 of the manga when Yuji had advised Megumi to escape the finger Bearer and go to finalbara within the Detention Center at this point in time Yuji would be physically broken fighting with only a single arm the attacks which a human like Yuji had gone through absolutely crushed him it made him realize how weak he is compared to a simple special grade finger Bearer but we all know what Yuji is like he’s got that dog in him to keep fighting till his very last breath the stubbornness from Yuji seem to have annoyed sukuna to which he takes control and decides to take on the finger Bearer.
Currently sukuna would only be worth the power of 2 cursed fingers so why exactly did sukuna display with only 10 percent of his true power well the first instance would be when he seamlessly used reverse curse technique to regenerate yuji’s severed arm whilst the finger bearer’s blast was on the way keeping in mind a navi is like Yuji could just about react to a blast like that and he did some serious damage to him what makes it even funnier is the fact that sakuna mentions how he had accidentally healed yuji’s arm which is just another Factor towards sakuna’s overpowered instincts then in a blink of an eye he grabs the head of the finger Bearer and proceeds to give him a good old smash to the ground and finishes it off with a massive stomp that destroys the bridge they are on but due to sukuna only yielding 10 percent of his true strength.
this special great finger Bearer surprisingly managed to clutch onto his leg and supposedly swing him away but again in some crazy display Sukuna’s pace is too much for This curse to handle as he tore the arm of the finger bearer all while sitting on a broken piece of debris with his finger Bearer lodged into the wall sakuna decides to give his final regards to such a beast and that was by displaying his domain expansion malevolent Shrine for the very first time just like that with only having consumed two fingers sukuna turns his finger Bearer into mince meat and consumes another finger which would make you three fingers so far from this battle alone we realized how sukuna’s speed is unmatched other than the likes of the special great Sorcerers such as Gojo but even still he can completely obitiate a special grade curse with little to no effort with just 10 percent of his true power.
3. Sukuna vs Megumi :
straight after this battle, Sukuna finds himself preying on an innocent Megumi, this is the moment where Sukuna finds himself obsessing over Megumi due to Megumi showcasing his abilities to the king of all curses, sukuna appea right behind Megumi to which he doesn’t notice at all at this point sukuna has no reason to let me Live, Megumi summons his new shikigami to Circle sukuna whilst Megumi takes him on one-on-one in close combat sukuna with ease Dodges each of Megumi’s punches and then punches him right in the face that’s when the megumi’s Great Serpent and new combined their attacks but all this effort would be futile just as sukuna destroyed the giant curse at the beginning of the series he did the same to Megumi’s Great Serpent this part here in particular again reveals that sukuna is one of the fastest characters in JJK.
throwing Megumi right into the air and in a split second appearing right behind him as he then pummels him into the ground Long story short Sukuna admires Megumi’s technique of utilizing shadows and decides to let him live so with sukuna now with three fingers which would be 15 percent of his true power completely washed Mega me with nothing but his raw strength and speed keeping in mind Megumi is a semi-experienced sorcerer who does know how to utilize their techniques but sukuna proven yet again that experience and skill is useless against someone like him.
4. Sukuna vs Jogo
which we would finally get to see sukuna back in action with nanako, mimiko and jogo having fed an unconscious Yuji an insane amount of fingers it is then stated by jogo that Yuji currently has 15 fingers within himself making it 75 percent of sukuna’s true power that is a drastic change going from 15 of his power to 75 percent he was already a menace with only three fingers anyways with sukuna finally back after a very long time he goes on to effortlessly slice the top of joko’s head with little to no effort when he doesn’t bow to him sukuna then asks them Nana call mimiko’s requests to which he ruthlessly kills them in an instance he even outpaced nanako’s curse technique this is where the real evaluation of sakuna’s strength begins as he proposes an offer to jogo if Joel can land a single hit on sukuna then he would kill every single human in Shibuya bar one this is jogo who you’re talking about here a special grade monster who is everything but weak I mean Landing a single hit shouldn’t be that hard right it would be in chapter 114 when we would see sukuna and jogo exploding outside of the building in mid-air with sukuna having a massive grin on his face asking jogo if that’s all he’s got while struggle looks completely wiped out.
Jogo refuses and is just about to attack sakuna with an attack but before he could even think sukuna slices jogo’s hands off with Elite Precision he then appears right behind him just how he did with Megumi and slams jogo’s head through seven stories of a high-rise building jogo in complete shock trying his best to gather his jaw goes on to remember the conversation he had with kenjaku, jogo believed he’d be around eight or nine fingers worth of sakuna’s strength but he was totally wrong a 15-finger sukuna is a nightmare.
Jogo then attempts to pull off a surprise flame attack and again sukuna Dodges with ease as though he teleported his way out that is when jogo decides to unleash his maximum meteor and funnily enough with Sukuna’s insane speed he had enough time to nonchalant Ali won’t kusakabe and Panda that if they moved he would kill them with the maximum Meteo destroying everything within the vicinity Jogo was convinced, he had managed to get a hit on sukuna but appearing right before him would be an unscathed sukuna this is where sukuna uses a flame bow and arrow into outpowers jogo’s flame attack and killed jogo throughout this, entire battle jogo wasn’t even able to play a single scratch on the king of all cases it’s also just like I mentioned the sukuna speed just becomes more and more terrifying with his growing strength . so a 15-finger sukuna which is 75 percent of his true power can defeat an opponent of the same calibre as jogo without undertaking a single scratch if this fight doesn’t make you realize how powerful Sakura is then I don’t know what will.
5. Sukuna vs Maharaga
This would be sukuna’s greatest challenge so far in the series as this would be against maharaga who is undeniably one of megumi’s most powerful shikigami that cannot be tamed we would see the limits of a 15-finger sukuna being tested with Megumi in a state of suspended death.
sukuna arrives on the scene to take on this, Unstoppable monster sukuna would block an attack from maharagas sword like arm but the power behind it was so immense it shattered the ground beneath sukuna and caused a massive Shockwave frightening harita and even shattering nearby buildings sukuna would go on to use his dismantle technique but this would only leave maharaga on one knee from that attack in an instance Sakura decided how maharaga had covered his arm like blade known as The Sword of extermination in positive cursed energy as this is used to combat against cursed Spirits.
Sukuna realizes that if he was a curse Spirit he would have been dead instantly, sukuna would attempt a straightforward slash but to his surprise maharaga Target flexi that’s when sukuna would get hit with an outrageously powerful attack sending him miles across Shibuya. Sukuna then smashes maharaga into the ground and quickly understands that maharaga can adapt and overcome any attack no matter how strong it may be. Sukuna has no choice but to resort to his domain expansion malevolent Shrine he only utilizes a 140 meter radius instead of his typical 200 to ensure the safety of Megami this results in everything and anything within the 140 meter radius being turned into literal dust due to sukuna’s dismantling cleave,
which essentially destroys humans buildings and curses in the surrounding area altogether surprisingly, Maharaga again suffice the attack and sukuna gives off the finishing blow with his massive flame bow and arrow attack the battle against maharaga displayed that even when it comes down to Battle intellect sukuna is A Cut Above the Rest to understand maharaga’s main power with only a few interactions essentially saved his own life.
If Sukuna mindlessly carried on attacking Maharaga then sukuna would have been as good as dead and the entire world would be at risk to a monster like that from my understanding. how Sukuna reacted to fighting against a powerful shikigami like maharaga makes me realize that with Sukuna’s experience he must have come up against multiple foes on a similar level to maharaga but just like Sukuna’s battle against Jogo sukuna came out unscathed so that was a 15-finger sukuna at his best showing off his insane durability speed and reflexes and on top of that finally revealing to us how devastating the malevolent Shrine could be.
6. Sukuna vs Yuji
The massive plot twist which it has taken it would be in chapter 212 that sukuna would finally enable The Binding vow between himself and Yuji which took place in the earlier chapters of the manga with sukuna yelling in chain why does next would be seen as a big risk from his own point of view taking control over yuji’s body and then ripping out his own fingers and feeding it through Megumi’s mouth one of the biggest reasons why sukuna took an interest in Megami was because Megami had the same aptitude to be the host to sukuna as Yuji but sakuna’s goal was simply to find a vessel in a Nutty cage just how he was within yuji’s body.
Sukuna waited till he himself became stronger and struck at Megumi at the point his soul would break and that was seeing Sumiki being controlled by something else completely this state of vulnerability had given Sukuna the chance to take control over Megumi’s body with that being said sukuna would summon the new shikigami.
however it would be on a scale like no other that is when Angel interrupts and uses her curse technique known as Jacob’s Ladder as for how powerful this technique is it most definitely made sukuna scream in pain and look like it would actually work that’s until sukuna uses the power of manipulation in toys with Hannah Caruso’s feelings but that’s when sukuna would take a massive bite ripping off her arm and throwing her off the skyscraper Yuji Witnesses all of this as he then attacks sakuna with insanely overpowered physical attacks something that we would see Maki do sukuna goes on to slash Yuji countless times just to be here with a nice hook By Yuji realizing that Megami from within is fighting back and keeping the cursed energy output to a minimum that is all there is so far and I know you guys will be annoyed that I didn’t wait until the fight was over but I do plan on making another one of these house strongs on sukuna.
when the series has ultimately ended but how successful Sukuna was in taking over Megumy’s body is unknown because we understand that Megume is writing from within and I’m not too sure how that would affect Sukuna in the long term maybe sakuna’s risk didn’t pay off and he’s just found himself in another cage like Yuji.
now we’ll be breaking down sukuna’s strength into three tests with the first one being sukuna’s physical ability
Physical Ability
All the battles in which we’ve covered so far are basically self-explanatory.
Sukuna at only 10 percent of his power was capable of destroying a special grade finger Barrow with ease and even managed to use the domain expansion on top of that too his speed, power and durability is like no other.
for example when sukuna had made his first appearance although he was against the Satoru Gojo the explosiveness in his power and speed was still that of a special grade curse although sukuna did get completely Washed by Gojo in that mini hand-to-hand combat that they had if that were any other sorcerer then they’d be struggling to keep up with sukuna.
when he went up a notch to 15 of his power he played a round of Megumi as though we were all child play at the time. Megumi would have been classed as a grade 2 sorcerer with some experience in battling curses but to someone like Sukuna he made light work as Megumi throwing Megumi miles into the air in a split second appear right behind him to slam him down what I found incredibly impressive over a three-fingered sukuna was his durability taking head-on attacks from Megumi’s shikigami and still outpowering them was just his physical strength alone.
But the two biggest fights that revealed to us that Sukuna is indeed the strongest in terms of raw strength alone was of course against Jogo and Maharaga with 75 percent of his power he Au maneuver Jogo in every single aspect we even got to see Sukuna utilize a curse technique killing jogo a master of the flame ability with fire itself even with jogo’s rigorous attacks such as his maximum meteor sakuna speed simply showed to us that there are special grades and then there is sukuna his battle with maharaga revealed to us his durability in general taking on hits knowing that maharaga only grows stronger with each attack,
while sukuna was eventually fighting against was a mirror of himself being thrown across all of Shibuya and yet getting a black nothing happened so for sukuna’s physical ability I’m going to score him a 20 out of 20. there is simply no one else stronger than Sukuna.
when it comes down to Raw physical power you could possibly debate Gojo but my money is on sakuna all day.
Battle Intellect
Sukuna’s Battle intellect and how far his brain power has helped him in a tight situation.
Surprisingly we’ve only seen Sukuna use his brain a few times but the most prevalent would be his battle against Maharaga, realizing the effect of Maharaga’s Sword of Extermination and deciphering that was imbued with positive cursed energy not only that but he made a life-saving analogy based on Maharaga’s main purpose and ability and that was the fact that Maharaga could adapt and overcome any attack put in his way.
If Sukuna hadn’t realized that he would have been as good as dead another instance of Sukuna’s intelligence would be how he planned on taking Megumi’s body from the very beginning. Although it was a big risk it somewhat paid off but we haven’t seen much of Sukuna using his brain power may be in the future chapters we will I’m going to give Sukuna a 17 out of 20 which is still insanely good it’s just if you got to see him break down more situations like he did against Maharaga he would have gotten a higher ranking easily.
Sukuna's Jujutsu abilities
As for Sakuna’s jujutsu abilities, there is no other character in the series besides Gojo who has displayed an immense amount of power and precision into their techniques from sukuna’s dismantling cleave all the way down to his domain expansion you guys should know better than anyone else.
Sukuna tops this class the craziest part about this is the fact that we’ve only seen sukuna use a curse technique twice and that was in the Shibuya incident Arc, but as for his domain expansion we realize why he is called the king of War curses his domain expansion is probably the strongest in the series and although it didn’t totally work on Maharaga. It still put his beast on the verge of death as for Sukuna’s flaming bow and arrow ability this is still unknown but from what we saw it managed to engulf a majority of the buildings in Shibuya to flames with only a single shot Sukuna may have much more hiding in his sleeve but the detail and power which goes behind each of his attacks is devastating.
For that I’ll be giving Sukuna a 20 out of 20 when it comes down to his Jujitsu abilities the only other person who perfected their Jujutsu ability to that standard would have to be Gojo or even Kenjaku.
Conclusion
Well, we are now down to the deciding question of how strong is Ryoman Sukuna, from what we’ve broken down about Sukuna’s character from his speed, power and durability, to his intelligence during a fight to his insanely overpowered Jujutsu abilities.
He really is the king of all curses and for me the strongest character in Jujutsu Kaisen.
the final score for Ryoman Sukuna is 57 out of 60 and that’s just what we’ve seen so far there is a massive Iceberg. concerning Sukuna’s character we’ve only seen the tip so I do believe Sukuna is indeed the strongest character in JJK with just 15 fingers to his name as for the debate between who is stronger with Gojo.
