Who will lead the Congress government in Rajasthan? Gehlot’s reply increased the tension of the pilot!

Kochi. Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Friday made it clear that he will contest for the post of Congress President of the party. Gehlot, who was in Kochi to participate in the Bharat Jodo Yatra, said that whatever the outcome of the elections, it is necessary to work unitedly and ensure that the party emerges as a strong opposition party. The statement given by Gehlot on who would lead the Rajasthan government after him, definitely increased the tension in the pilot camp. On speculation that Congress MP Shashi Tharoor may contest for the post of Congress President, Gehlot said that “other friends of Congress” can also contest, but unity in the party and strengthening the organization at all levels matters the most.

When journalists asked Gehlot who would lead the Congress government after him in Rajasthan if he wins the election, he replied, “Current party president Sonia Gandhi and in-charge of party affairs in Rajasthan Ajay Maken in this regard.” Will take a decision.
Gehlot was also asked whether he would have any role in the selection of his successor in Rajasthan, to which he replied, “I cannot say this by standing in Kochi. In-charge of party affairs in Rajasthan Ajay Maken and Congress President Sonia Gandhi will take a decision on the related developments in Rajasthan and when this has to be done.
Here, even before the filing of Gehlot nomination, the struggle for succession has started in Rajasthan. Gehlot is preparing to make the path of the camp pilot difficult. According to sources, Gehlot can put forward the names of senior leaders of Rajasthan in front of Camp Pilot, which includes Assembly Speaker CP Joshi. On the other hand, Pilot supporters hope that the Gandhi family will hand over the command to him after Gehlot in Rajasthan.

The Congress had issued the notification for the election of the party’s president on Thursday. Now the process of filing nominations will run from September 24 to 30. The last date for withdrawal of nominations is October 8. In case of more than one candidate, voting will be held on October 17 and results will be declared on October 19.
