The Yogi government of Uttar Pradesh is going to start a big campaign from July 1 in the entire state for the prevention of communicable diseases. A campaign like Halla Bol will be conducted in all 75 districts of the state against infectious diseases like Encephalitis, Dengue, Chikungunya, Malaria and Kala-azar. On Thursday, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has issued an order to the officers of all the departments to make this campaign successful by coordinating all the departments so that the opposition parties who put the tag of BIMARU state on the state do not apply. Along with this, people should also get rid of these diseases.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath hails from Gorakhpur, a district where Japanese Encephalitis used to kill hundreds of children. But in the last few years, there has been a significant decline in the number of deaths. Earlier, this campaign for the prevention of communicable diseases was limited to a few districts of eastern Uttar Pradesh, but now on the orders of the Chief Minister, the Health Department will run it in the entire state with the help of other departments. Japanese Encephalitis has been the most affected in 38 districts including Basti Gorakhpur division, out of which 18 districts are at high risk.

Diseases spread in rainy season
Let us tell you that with the onset of the rainy season, such diseases spread very fast. Dirt, lack of awareness, lack of health facilities and sluggish attitude of the administration play an important role in increasing these diseases.

From Kushinagar to Saharanpur in terms of Encephalitis, Mathura, Firozabad, Agra, Kanpur, Lucknow in terms of Dengue. Bareilly and surrounding districts in terms of malaria. Varanasi and adjoining districts in terms of Kala-azar and the entire region of Bundelkhand are very sensitive in case of Chikungunya. Yogi Adityanath has instructed his officers that such cases increase due to neglect and negligence, that is why this time this campaign should be started in every district, tehsil, block headquarter, municipal corporation from July 1 in the entire state. The Information Department and Health Department should put up big hoardings at every hospital etc. so that people can get enough information about the prevention of these diseases and what precautions are to be taken.

2000 children die every year due to encephalitis
Let us tell you that about 2000 children died every year in the entire state due to encephalitis. This situation was prevailing for four decades, but for the last five years, the Yogi government is working on vector surveillance. After which its cases have decreased rapidly. Encephalitis Treatment Center, Mini Piku Center have been set up in the state. Under the Har Ghar Toilet and Swachh Bharat Mission, the government is giving special emphasis on cleanliness. At present, work is also going on to provide pure drinking water to the public under the Har Ghar Nal Yojana of the Central Government. The purpose behind all these schemes is just that the public should get rid of infectious diseases.

‘Contaminated water is the reason behind most infectious diseases’
Senior Physician Dr. Santram says that the reason behind most infectious diseases is contaminated water. There is heavy water in many districts of eastern Uttar Pradesh, if you keep the hand pump water in the pot at night, then by morning a whole layer of dirt will be visible under the water. It is not possible to install RO and water treatment plants everywhere, in such a situation, people should boil water and then filter it and drink it. In such places, an appeal can be made to the people only through awareness programs.

Prevention of communicable diseases will be promoted
On the orders of the Chief Minister, promotion of prevention of communicable diseases will also be done through School Chalo Abhiyan, Dastak Abhiyan. Along with this, the officials of the city development have been asked to immediately engage for cleaning of drains, fogging, vector surveillance. The officers of the Health Department will give training to the Anganwadi as well as the village heads on how to prevent communicable diseases so that they can make people aware in their areas. On July 1, on the orders of the Chief Minister, the in-charge ministers of all the districts will be present in their districts and will start this campaign as well as work to make the general public aware.
