Uddhav Thackeray in action, Eknath Shinde removed from the post of Shiv Sena leader, accused of doing anti-party activity

Mumbai: Shiv Sena President Uddhav Thackeray on Friday removed Eknath Shinde from the post of ‘Shiv Sena leader’. In a letter to Shinde, who took oath as Maharashtra chief minister a day earlier, Thackeray accused him of “involving in anti-party activities”.

The letter said that Shinde has also “voluntarily” given up the membership of the party, so “in exercise of the powers vested in me as Shiv Sena party president, I remove you from the post of Shiv Sena leader in the party organisation.” ‘

This letter is dated June 30, the day Shinde took oath as the chief minister with the support of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Prior to that, Shinde and most of the Shiv Sena MLAs had revolted against Thackeray. Thackeray had resigned from the post of Chief Minister of Maharashtra on 29 June.
