Presidential election: BJP seeks support for Draupadi Murmu’s candidature, JP Nadda talks to opposition leaders


New Delhi: NDA candidate Draupadi Murmu in presidential election (Draupadi Murmu) For this, the BJP has once again asked the opposition parties. BJP sources said that party president JP Nadda has spoken to Mallikarjun Kharge, Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, Farooq Abdullah and HD Deve Gowda. Appealing, JP Nadda said that there should be no politics on such an issue and this election should be done by consensus. BJP sources gave this information to news agency ANI.

Earlier today, 64-year-old Draupadi Murmu, former governor of Jharkhand, filed her nomination for the presidential election. Other senior leaders including Prime Minister Modi, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and Union Home Minister Amit Shah were present on this occasion. Prime Minister Modi was the first mover in Murmu’s nomination paper. Other top party leaders including BJP President Nadda also joined the proposers.

During the nomination, two senior ministers of the state government were present as representatives of the ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD) of Odisha. The BJD has supported Murmu’s candidature.
