Kerala HC takes cognizance of statewide bandh call by Popular Front of India
New Delhi: A day after the National Investigation Agency (NIA) raided 93 locations of Popular Front of India (PFI) in 15 states of the country, the PFI called for a Kerala bandh on Friday. During this, incidents of violence have come to the fore in different parts of Kerala. In Thiruvananthapuram and Koyattam, PFI activists vandalized government buses and vehicles. According to the police, two policemen were attacked by PFI activists riding motorcycles in Kollam. In view of the protests, the state government has made additional deployment of police forces in the cities. The Kerala High Court has taken suo motu cognizance of the statewide bandh called by the leaders of the Popular Front of India. The Kerala High Court has said that the bandh cannot be called without permission, such a demonstration after the arrests is not right.
