But on the way back, he visited the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for just one and a half hours. This tour of UAE for just one and a half hours was special for India in many ways. When PM Modi landed on UAE soil for just one and a half hours, the UAE President and the world’s richest President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the ruler of Abu Dhabi, broke protocol and welcomed himself.

Although PM Modi’s program was to condole the recent demise of former UAE President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the warmth with which the President welcomed him has many meanings.

UAE visit is more special than G-7 summit
This visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi is being considered special than the G-7 meeting. After the G-7 meeting, the Prime Minister visited the UAE for just one and a half hours during his return to India. But one and a half hours and one meeting is very special for India. During his one-and-a-half hour visit, the Prime Minister met with Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE and Ruler of Abu Dhabi. After this, bilateral talks took place between the two leaders. The PM’s visit came in the backdrop of outrage from several countries in the Gulf, including the UAE, over the BJP spokesperson’s remarks on Prophet Mohammad. Although India clarified its stand on this and said that this is not the intention of the Government of India. India had informed the Gulf countries in this matter.

Help in eradicating the resentment of the Gulf countries
Putting aside the controversial background, several important talks took place between the PM and the President of the UAE. PM’s visit will help in eradicating the resentment of the Gulf countries. Most of the people of India live in UAE. On the other hand, a new quad has been formed between India, Israel, United Arab Emirates and the United States of America which is being called I2U2. Next month the first conference of I2U2 i.e. Western Asia Quad will be held. PM Modi will meet again with the President of UAE in this quad conference.

unmatched business partnership
The mutual relationship between India and UAE is also very special and the trade figures also show its strength. India is the second largest trading partner of the United Arab Emirates and the third largest trading partner of the UAE. Negotiations on the trade agreement between the two countries were completed in just 88 days. Apart from this, G-7 may be a big platform, but in many ways, if we leave America, then no other country of G-7 is ahead of UAE in terms of India’s interest. In 2021, after the US, India’s exports have been to the UAE the most. Apart from this, people of Indian community also live more in UAE.
