Varanasi. Actually there is no age limit for studies. This thing has been proved by 84-year-old Amaldhari Singh, a resident of Varanasi. In fact, he has become the oldest student of the country by studying even at this stage of his age. Amaldhari Singh, who lives in Ganeshpuri Colony of Varanasi, has obtained a D.Litt degree from the Sanskrit department of Banaras Hindu University. Let us tell you that in the year 2021, Amaldhari Singh had registered in the university for the degree of D.Lit and now he has also obtained its degree. Earlier, Vellayani Arjunan, who hails from Kerala, obtained his D.Lit. degree from Aligarh Muslim University in 2015 at the age of 82.

Born on July 22, 1938, in Jaunpur district of UP, Amaldhari Singh was fond of education since childhood and his passion continues even at this age. In 1966, he did his PhD from BHU. At the same time, during his PhD studies, he had also served four years as a warrant officer in BHU NCC. Meanwhile, former Prime Minister of India Jawaharlal Nehru also gave him the Champion Trophy in the Best Trainer Award in 1963.

Amaldhari Singh told that at this age he gets comfort only in working. This is the reason why they constantly keep themselves busy in their lives. He told that there should always be a urge to learn and study in life. They are continuously moving forward for this purpose. Perhaps this is the reason that at the age of 84, Amaldhari Singh is completely fit.

Professor at Jodhpur University
Let us inform that in 1967, he was posted as Assistant Professor in Jodhpur University. After serving there for 11 years, he worked at Baiswara PG College in Rae Bareli and retired in 1999. After that he moved to Banaras. After coming to Banaras, he worked in the Vedic philosophy department of BHU.
