Mumbai. The cases of corona virus are increasing day by day in Maharashtra. Keeping this in mind, CM Uddhav Thackeray held a meeting with senior officials of the state on Friday regarding the situation of corona virus. Also reviewed the possibility of making face masks mandatory again in Mumbai suburban (local) trains. An official statement issued by the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) said that CM Uddhav Thackeray reviewed the current corona virus situation in the state. The news agency PTI, quoting information given by the CMO, wrote that in the meeting, the Chief Minister also discussed the possibility of making face masks mandatory for suburban train passengers in a meeting with senior officials.

Let us inform that in the month of April this year, the Maharashtra government had decided to do away with the mandatory wearing of masks and made it optional. This decision was taken by the state government after seeing a sharp drop in the daily cases of corona virus. The CM said in the statement, “Coronavirus cases are increasing in the state mainly in Mumbai, Thane, Pune, Raigad and Palghar districts. People themselves should follow the corona guideline. At the same time, 4,205 new cases of Kovid-19 were reported in Maharashtra on Friday, due to which the total number of infected people increased to 79,54,445 while after the death of three more patients due to the epidemic, the number of people who lost their lives due to the epidemic increased to 1,47,896. This information was given by the state health department.

On Thursday, 5,218 cases of infection were registered in the state, while one patient died. The number of COVID-19 patients under treatment crossed 25,000, reflecting a wide gap between new patients and those who have recovered from the pandemic. A bulletin of the Health Department said that 3,752 patients have been cured in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of patients who have recovered to 77,81,232. The patients under treatment in Maharashtra rose to 25,317 from 24,867 on Thursday. Of these, 13,257 patients are in Mumbai.
