Kullu. An elderly woman was beaten to death in the Gadsa Valley of Himachal Pradesh’s Kullu district late on Sunday night. The woman lived alone in the house. Police have registered a case of murder. This is the second murder in Kullu in a week.

According to the information, 60-year-old Shakuntala Devi lived alone. The woman was brutally beaten to death by an unknown. SP Kullu Gurudev Sharma also reached the spot. The FSL team was called by the police from Mandi.

SP Kullu Gurudev Sharma said that the police had received information at around 12.30 pm that the body of the woman was lying in Gadsa and after that the police team reached the spot and took possession of the dead body. The police kept guard throughout the night. In the morning, the FSL team reached the spot and collected evidence. The woman lives alone and someone has assaulted the woman.

The woman had suffered head injuries. The iron rod of the accused has also been found stuck in the hair of the woman. The police have started investigating the case registered under 302-IPC. The cause of death will be known in the post-mortem report. The police have questioned the people of the area. The woman has a deep injury mark on her head.

Statements of 2 dozen people have been recorded in the case. The body of the woman has been sent by the police to Nerchowk Medical College for post-mortem. The SP said that the police would soon arrest the accused.
