The Ireland captain told the Times of India, ‘We have many players who are better in the T20 format. We all know how competitive it is to be in IPL. Playing in the league is a big ambition for many of us. IPL is the pinnacle of T20 cricket. Explaining what makes IPL a success, he said, “Some players develop quickly when they reach the league.” According to him, ‘Many Irish players play in leagues around the world but they do not play in the IPL.’
According to Balbirnie, ‘You see how fast some players develop when they reach the Indian Premier League. We have a lot of players who play in different leagues around the world but not in IPL. They come back to the team with a lot of experience and learnings.

Series will start from 26th June
The T20 series to be played between India and Ireland will start from June 26. The first match of this series will be played in Malahide.
