England team will visit Pakistan after 17 years, there will be 7 T20 series instead of 5

Karachi. The England cricket team will visit September in the second week of September. A series of 7 T20s will be played between the two countries. The Pakistan Cricket Board has decided to use two or three venues for this series to be held before the T20 World Cup. Talks are going on between the PCB and the England and Wales Cricket Board to finalize this tour. According to board sources, initially the PCB wanted matches to be held at more venues, including smaller international venues like Faisalabad and Multan, but now it has shelved the plan.

The source confirmed that the tentative draft of the venues and dates has been sent to the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) and the PCB is expecting an ECB delegation to visit Pakistan in July-August. The tentative date of the tour is from 15 September to 2 October.

T20 series matches will be played in Karachi and Lahore
The source added, “Karachi and Lahore will be the two main venues in the series and Rawalpindi has been included as a back up. But the England team is coming to Pakistan after 17 years and in such a situation, it is expected that a lot of spectators will reach for matches in Karachi and Lahore also.

ECB agrees to play 2 extra T20s
Last week, Pakistan Cricket Board chairman Rameez Raja, after meeting British commissioner Christian Turner, said that the dates for the England tour would be announced soon. Initially, England had to play only five T20s against Pakistan. But, Tom Harrison, the chief executive of the ECB, agreed to add 2 more T20s to this series. This has been done to compensate for the loss caused by England’s withdrawal from the tour of Pakistan last year.
