Actually, John Edrich scored 5138 runs in 127 innings at an average of 43.54 while playing 77 Test matches for England between 1963 and 1976. At the same time, Bairstow has left him behind in the matter of scoring the most runs in Test cricket while playing an explosive half-century inning of 71 runs.

Talking about Bairstow’s Test career, he has played 86 matches for the English team since 2012, scoring 5195 runs in 154 innings at an average of 36.07. During this, his bat has scored 10 centuries and 23 fifties. His personal best batting performance in Test cricket is 167 not out.
