Accident near Chamba: Seeing icebergs and stones falling, some riders got off the bus

Chamba. One person was killed and six others were injured in an avalanche and landslide at Sach Pass in Himachal Pradesh’s Chamba district on Sunday. This bus was going on the Chamba-Kilar road. Icebergs and big stones started falling from the hill on the bus at Sach Pass.

The important thing is that when the bus reached a short distance from Sach Pass, stones started falling from the hill. Then some of the passengers got off the bus and saved their lives, but the people who were sitting in the bus came under the grip of that big rock. It was also fortunate that the bus did not fall into the ditch below. There was a jolt after the rocks hit the bus, but the bus got stuck on the right side of the road. The rock was so big that the rear side of the bus was completely blown up. After reaching the spot, the police took the dead body in possession and sent it to Teesa Hospital for post-mortem.

The 42-year-old man who died in the accident is a resident of Deoda village in Chamba. The police first took the injured to Tissa for first aid and later they were referred to Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College. At present, the condition of two seriously injured people is said to be critical.

Vinod Dhiman, Additional Superintendent of Police, Chamba said that information was received at Teesa police station that stones have fallen on the bus coming from Killar to Chamba near Sach pass and in which one person has died and 6 people have been injured. He said that the injured have been shifted to Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, Chamba for treatment.

The ASP has appealed to the people that the Chamba-Kilar road is at a very high altitude and the weather here becomes bad at any time. Therefore, there is an appeal to the people that whenever the administration issues an alert, follow it.
